An Introduction To Me
What’s my story? From starting in a garage to owning two multi-million-pound businesses in just 5 years, I’ll be sharing my journey with you alongside a whole host of tips and advice around the trade. So, let me introduce myself. My name is Nicky Story. I’m 29 years old, I’m from South Yorkshire and I own Supplies For Candles and The Soap Kitchen. Supplies For Candles has grown dramatically over the last 5 years and we are continuing to expand, proud to be constantly creating new, exciting job opportunities and brand new product lines.
I set up Supplies For Candles back in February 2016 out of my dad’s garage. At the time, I was still working a full-time job whilst saving up for a deposit for a house. At the beginning of 2016, I decided to change my path and invest my savings into growing my very own business. Today nearly five years later, my business is now turning over around £15 million pounds a year. I’ve had the privilege of serving over 60,000 customers and have recruited over 100 members of staff across two different locations in the UK to help support me in my drive to be the best company we can be.

Starting business
When I first went into business I had no idea about e-commerce or marketing. I made a ton of mistakes along the way but I’ve learned a hell of a lot over the last four and a half years. Now, in the current climate, it’s more important than ever to make sure that your business practices are 100% spot on. I’ve got many customers who’ve made successful brands and made millions from businesses which originally started in the kitchen. I’ve seen brands fail and I’ve seen brand succeed. Which is why I’d like to share my findings from business, so you can make the right decisions when it comes to growing your own business.
With that, I’ve decided to start sharing my experiences to help my customers grown their brands. I also want to inspire new potential entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses and become influential promoters of their brands.
Rewind a few years to when I set up Supplies For Candles, it was evident that there wasn’t a lot of information out there which I felt I could make use of when it came to the business side of operations. This is the reason why I’ve decided to curate content that is relevant and helpful with the aim to give back to the community by sharing my knowledge and know-how. I want to give you the tools to grow your own business to then to go on to write your success story.
